Target Christmas Clearance 50% off
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
It is my favorite time of year to shop the clearance deals at Target! The Target Christmas clearance is currently 50% off (food and candy 30% off). I stopped by my store this morning so I can give you all the details on what is and isn’t included in the Christmas clearance. Make sure you use the scanners to double check the prices. Keep in mind clearance deals may vary by location.
Here are the dates the Christmas clearance happened last year:
- December 26th ~ 50% off (food and candy 30% off)
- December 29th ~ 70% off (food and candy 50% off)
- January 1st ~ 90% off (food and candy 70% off)
Christmas Clearance
The Christmas items are all 50% off with the food items being 30% off. Here is a peek at some of the Christmas clearance deals I spotted at my store. Don’t forget to check for items you can use year round.
There are usually always holiday themed Glad & Ziploc containers.
Check for wrapping paper and gift bags you can use year round. This bag would be perfect anytime of year, just removed the “joy” tag.
Check the stocking stuffer items for great Easter basket stuffers and items for birthday party gift bags.
Home & Kitchen
Don’t forget to check the home and kitchen sections because these items may not have been moved back to the Christmas department yet. Here are some of the Christmas home and kitchen items I found:
You can pick this up for next year and use it as Christmas Advent Activity Countdown.
Watch for baking supplies that have Christmas themed packaging.
Gifts-to-Go
The Gifts-to-Go items are included in the Christmas markdown however not everything is 50% off, some of the items are only 30% off while other are 50% off. I also found some items that weren’t marked down at all. These gift displays may be moved back to the Christmas department or they may still be found around the store. Check out the posts below to get an idea of the items you can find in the gifts-to-go displays.
Here is a peek at some of the markdowns we found on these displays. Most of these items are not Christmas themed and they would make great gifts year round.
The items below are also part of the clearance (seasonal clearance will end in a 9 or a 0, that’s how we know) but they are currently only ringing up at 30% off. You will just have to use the scanner for these items to check the discounts.
Dollar Spot
The Dollar Spot items will probably be moved into the back with the Christmas clearance, but they could still be at the front of the store. Here is a peek at the Christmas items that were available this year:
Magnolia Hearth and Hand
Happy day! It looks like the Magnolia Hearth & Hand Christmas collection will be part of the Christmas markdown and will not have yellow clearance stickers. I’m hoping we can see these items make it to the 90% off markdown.
These cute dollhouse is part of the clearance too! How fun would it be to snag one of these at 70% or even 90% off. Not sure they will make it to those markdown levels, but a girl can dream, right? See a few of the deals below.
Beauty
The past couple of years the beauty items have started at 30% off, but this year it looks like they are 50% off. Woo hoo! Here are a few items to watch for, I would also check out the links in the Gift-to-go section because we shared lots of beauty items in those photos too.
Starbucks
Don’t forget to check out all of the items in the Starbucks Cafe, sometimes you can find super deals on their gift sets, tumblers, travel mugs and more. These items are part of the Christmas clearance and they follow the same markdown. I may or may not have a small addiction to their cute seasonal tumblers!
Do you think the Our Generation Christmas sets will be discounted?
They were marked 30% off as part of the toy clearance
Dollar Spot Christmas merchandise not at my location, speculation that Some targets would donate the dollar finds to goodwill aka salvage
What target is this at? I am in Washington and the store in Redmond is pathetic. Thanks!
Is the 90% usually on the 1st or thé Monday after the weekend post Christmas…saw last year it was on Monday the 1st, but what was it the year or two prior? Curious if you know. Thanks so much! Love Target and lové All Things Target so much!!!!
In January 2016 it went 70 on 1/2/17, and 90 on the 3rd and 4th, depending on location.
December 27, 2016, it went 70 (12/28 for Redmond). It went 90 on January 2, 2017.
I’m one of those weird people that keeps her receipts? I also write the Christmas clearance dates on my receipt envelopes. Old receipts are gone, but the envelopes with the dates still remain!

waiting…………..for 70
I love M&Ms and my local Target had a lot of milk chocolate, peanut, and cocoa bags. I bought a few but was hoping they would have been 50% off.
I called my local target and asked and they said items stay at their clearance price for three days before it moved to the next price – I.e. 50% off 12/26-12/28, 70% off 12/29-12/31 and 90% starting 1/1.
One of the Targets I went to today(12-28) was 70% off, so I’d expect the rest to go tomorrow
How long do they stay at 90 before it’s salvaged?
