It’s football season! If you are like us, you love to watch your favorite college team either in person or at home. If we are watching a game at home we like to invite friends and family over and have a feast.
These Sweet BBQ Meatballs are easy to make. I love using my slow cooker for game day food because you can just throw everything in and forget about it until it’s time to eat. This recipe includes a can of Dr Pepper®, I find that soda makes a great base for marinades because it adds a little bit of sweetness. Here are all the ingredients you will need to make these Sweet BBQ Meatballs:
- 32 oz frozen meatballs
- 1 cup honey BBQ sauce
- 1 can Dr Pepper
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 TBSP apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/3 cup chopped onions
In bowl combine BBQ sauce, Dr Pepper, sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder and onions. Whisk until well combined.
Add frozen meatballs to slow cooker and pour sauce over the top. Using a spoon, toss meatballs to ensure they are all coated with the sauce. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
You now have football friendly party food with very minimal effort. You will love the sweetness the Dr Pepper and Brown Sugar add to these.
These super easy meatballs are sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Don’t forget to also serve Dr Pepper soda to your football loving friends.
