Do you need a little something to brighten up your door? You won’t believe how quickly and easily this wreath comes together.
You’ll need:
- pool noodle
- plain burlap roll
- patterned burlap or ribbon for the bow
- small wood letters
- paint
- paint brushes
- hot glue gun
- clear packaging tape
- floral wire
- scissors
You can find the wood letters near the coloring supplies at Target. They’re just the right size for this project.
Begin by painting the front of the letters. Set them aside to dry while you make the wreath. If you use acrylic paint they should dry very quickly.
Forming the wreath is oh so easy. Decide how large you want it to be, then cut the pool noodle with scissors. Join the ends and wrap tape around it.
Wrap the burlap around the wreath until it’s completely covered.
Once I get to the end I like to fold over the last bit of burlap to keep the look of the wreath consistent.
Tuck the end of the burlap in the back.
Use burlap or ribbon to create a bow. Secure it to the wreath with floral wire tucked underneath the burlap. You could also try using these burlap flowers by Hand Made Modern. Anything bright and colorful should do beautifully.
The wood letters should be dry by now. Glue them to the wreath with a hot glue gun. Be generous with the glue and they should stay put. Now is a good time to secure the end of the burlap to the back of the wreath with a dab of glue too.
Now all that’s left to do is admire your beautiful wreath. No one will ever suspect it’s actually a pool noodle!
