I love ice cream and it’s even better when you add fun toppings. When we visit our local frozen yogurt shop my topping of choice is always Fruity Pebbles. I thought it would be fun to make my own Fruity Pebbles pops at home using homemade ice cream and Post Fruity Pebbles. I love the way they turned out. These were a big hit at our house! These would be fun to make for a birthday party because the colors are festive and fun. I’m thinking making them with Cocoa Pebbles would be a fun twist too.
Here is what you need to make homemade ice cream and turn them into Fruity Pebbles Ice Cream Pops:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 12 plastic disposable cups (3 oz)
- 12 popsicle sticks
- 1 box Post Fruity Pebbles
Make the vanilla ice cream in your ice cream maker by adding cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla. If you prefer you can use store bought ice cream you will just have to soften it up a bit before adding it to the cups.
Spoon ice cream into 3 oz cups and insert popsicle stick. Place in freezer for 2 hours.
Remove cups from freezer, and run each cup under warm water so you can easily remove the ice cream pops from the cups. Immediately roll softened ice cream into Post Fruity Pebbles and place back into freezer for 20 minutes.
Once the ice cream is set, remove from them from the freezer and enjoy! Your whole family will love these and the kids will have a blast making them. My kids loved rolling the ice dream in the Post Fruity Pebbles.
You can pick up Post Fruity Pebbles at Target. I recommend picking up the BIG Family Size 15 oz box since they are on sale 3/$9.00. This sale price is valid through September 3rd so that gives you lots of time to stock-up.
I know that Post Fruity Pebbles is a cereal that kids love and they are happy to eat it straight out of a bowl, but I recommend heading over to the Post Food website to check out all their recipes featuring Fruity Pebbles.
In addition to Fruity Pebbles you will find another great Post cereal on sale at Target too. You can also pick up a great deal on the large 18 oz boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats, they are also on sale 3/$9.
