We live in an era that is saturated with ideas about self care. There seems to be a million and one ways to ‘treat yourself’. And while I truly believe that the important of self care can never be understated, I consider myself more of a purest when it comes to these things. Despite all of these new forms, I always find myself coming back to the basics. In other words, nothing satiates me like a good soak in the tub.

And when I say a good soak, I mean it. If there aren’t flickering candles and an aromatic bath salt exfoliating my skin, I don’t want it. I spotted this bath salt jar at the Target Dollar Spot for $5 and knew what I had to do. Using a simple recipe with items I actually already had on hand, I created my own bath salts.

If you’re like me (or know something like me) and can’t deny the allure of a good soak, you can create this for yourself! Check your Target for the bath salt jar or grab whatever airtight container you have on hand.

DIY Bath Salt Recipe:
  • 1 cup Epsom Salt
  • 1 cup Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
  • 10 drops, essential oil
The great thing about this recipe in particular is that it’s so customizable. You can mix and match your favorite scents when it comes to the oils. My favorite is a Lavender-Jasmine blend! I also created a bath salt printable to attach to the jar that you can also download, print, and use for your own project!  I used printable vinyl for my label.  I reduced the label down to 60% before I printed it, you may need to play around with the sizing a little depending on your size of jar.  Enjoy!
