I finally decided to upgrade from my D40. I figured having a camera and video camera in one would make it easier to take video of our kids, especially #3 who was sorely lacking in the video department compared to the first two. I was debating between the D5100 and the D3200. (The D5200 was just announced when I made the purchase and had forced the price of the D5100 down to about the same as the D3200). In the end, I decided the only thing I liked on the D5100 that wasn’t on the D3200 was the swivel screen. And I figured the newer, higher megapixel sensor would make this one last longer before it was replaced with a newer model.
